Is Your Medicine Making You Fat?
Gaining
weight is an often over-looked side effect of many common medications.
Do you know which ones and how? Surprisingly, hormone replacement therapy
(HRT) drugs did not make the list. These may surprise you:
1. Antihistamines ? they
have been known to increase appetite.
2. Steroidal hormones ?
these can cause fluid and salt retention as well as an increased appetite.
3. Certain antidepressants/psychiatric
medications ? may cause increased appetite due to normalization in moods.
4. Diabetic medications
? stabilization of blood sugar causes you to retain most nutrients that
were previously excreted.
