Fat Substitutions
Cutting fat in your
diet can be as easy as making a few simple substitutions. Try the following
fat-cutting ideas:
1. Use half the fat that
your recipes require.
2. Try diet margarine rather
than regular margarine or butter.
3. 100% fruit purees or
juices make recipes sweet and lower in fat.
4. Use evaporated skim
milk in the place of cream.
5. Try nonfat plain yogurt
instead of sour cream or mayonnaise.
6. Drink skim milk rather
than whole milk.
7. Buy only lowfat cheeses.
8. Substitute 3 Tbs. cocoa
powder and 1 Tbs. of light oil for baker’s chocolate.
9. Drink 100% juices and
water in the place of sodas and soft drinks.
