Chemical Name: NYSTATIN (nye-STAT-in) and TRIAMCINOLONE (trye-am-SIN-oh-lone)
This medicine is an antifungal and steroid combination used to treat or prevent skin infections.
INFORM YOUR DOCTOR OR PHARMACIST of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
Follow the directions for using this medicine provided by your doctor. TO PREVENT REINFECTION, wash your hands thoroughly before and after using this medicine. WASH AND COMPLETELY DRY the affected area. Gently rub the medicine in until it is evenly distributed. DO NOT BANDAGE, COVER, OR WRAP the treated skin unless directed to do so by your doctor. STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light. TO CLEAR UP YOUR INFECTION COMPLETELY, continue using this medicine for the full course of treatment, even if your symptoms are relieved in a few days. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
IF YOUR SYMPTOMS DO NOT IMPROVE within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT GET this medicine in your eyes. IF THIS MEDICINE IS TO BE APPLIED TO THE GROIN AREA, apply sparingly and wear loose fitting clothing. IF THIS MEDICINE IS TO BE APPLIED TO SKIN COVERED BY A DIAPER, do not use tight-fitting diapers or plastic pants. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for longer than recommended. FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THIS MEDICINE IS EXCRETED in breast milk. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include burning, itching, or stinging. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience skin irritation not present before using this medicine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
DO NOT SHARE THIS MEDICINE with others for whom it was not prescribed. DO NOT USE THIS MEDICINE for other health conditions. KEEP THIS MEDICINE out of the reach of children. IF USING THIS MEDICINE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
